During our Rocklands Bird Sanctuary Tour you will travel through the hills of Anchovy to Rocklands, overlooking Montego Bay. Lisa Salmon, affectionately called ‘The Bird Lady” moved to Rocklands in 1954 and with her strong love for nature began feeding the local birds. After frequent visiting of the various birds she decided to open her sanctuary to the public some 8 years later in 1962. Rocklands has since hosted thousands of people from all over the world, both local and visitors, as they wait patiently in a rustic setting to feed the great variety of birds. Everyone waits excitedly to see the national bird of Jamaica with its emerald green streamer tail, known as the Humming Bird. There is no other place in Jamaica where guests have the opportunity to hand feed the country’s national bird as well as other exotic feathered creatures. You can also take a tour around the grounds where your knowledgeable guide, Fritz, will point out many species of birds and plant life. It is believed that there are over 200 species of birds in Jamaica and many of them can be seen at the Rocklands Bird Sanctuary. This excursion is great for animal and nature lovers!

My girlfriend and I just got back from a cruise and this was our favorite stop. Our guide (Paul) did a great job getting us to the sanctuary where we were treated for a nice 2 hour tour. After that Paul showed us some of the best food, drinks, and shopping that Jamaica had to offer. Another shout out to the excellent communication from Andrea who helped arrange everything.
Thanks for the unforgettable experience!

Decided last minute to do a couple day trips while vacationing at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica. After finding out the prices of the resort excursions I went online and found Travel Around Jamaica's site. Prices were much better and the communication I had from Andrea was outstanding! We quickly got our bookings made for the dates and times we wanted.
Our driver for both days was Ronny; he was excellent! Awesome gentleman who provided us with a continuous stream of local information and took us through some very interesting areas on both trips.
Thanks for making our trips great!
