Glistening Waters Luminous Lagoon in Falmouth, Jamaica, is an incredibly unique and historically rich natural wonder of Jamaica. In fact, in the 1800's when sugar was king, the luminous lagoon housed a wharf where large ships from Britain would travel up the Martha Brae River with goods on small boats and come back with sugar, rum, and other local Jamaican exports. After the sugar trade declined in Jamaica, scientists discovered that the lagoon was also scientifically significant, since it was the best place to observe millions of microorganisms called dinoflagellates that flourish in salt water where the water is warm and shallow. In fact the luminous lagoon in Falmouth is said to be the biggest and most brilliant of only 4 luminous lagoons in the world!
During our Luminous Lagoon Night Tour you will get a once in a lifetime chance to take a guided boat tour into the luminous lagoon at night and swim in the glistening warm luminescent water where you'll get to see you and your friends and families' shadows, as well as fish, while having unique photos taken.

My husband and me and my two kids went on the Luminous Lagoon Night Tour in November 2020, and I must say it was one of the best tours I have ever been on in my life! The boat guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and we got to swim in the Luminous Lagoon and have photos taken, which lit up with all of these beautiful microorganisms called dinoflagellates! I highly recommend anyone visiting Jamaica to go on this tour, you will not be disappointed!
